Butterflies Accordion Book

My niece Sarah made a wonderful version of the accordion book with lots of butterflies.  She finished it up last week but I kept forgetting to post the pictures.

She used the wrinkle free distress ink technique to make the first layer of her backgrounds with some great hot colors.  She added Perfect Pearls with some Crafter's Workshop stencils and then some stamping.  You can really see the wonderful texture she achieved in the close-up images below.

She stamped a variety of butterfly images and used Derwent Inktense blocks and pencils to color them.   All of the individual butterflies were only partially attached so the wings all have some movement.

The center image is a pop-up butterfly that she designed herself. It has two small pieces of "bling" for eyes.

For the cover she used a K & Company dimensional butterfly.  She created a tunnel behind the butterfly so that the ribbon closure could go behind the butterfly and not cover it up.

Great job Sarah!!

Each butterfly is so beautiful and unique. What a lovely book. The ribbon tunnel was a great idea. It so shows off the dimensional butterfly. Everything is no well crafted. Very nice going Sarah!
