Cadaver & Digger Undertakers - A Project from the Artfully Musing 2015 Halloween Event

Hello everyone!

I'm back with my next building in the Haunted Village.  This is another of Laura Carson's designs (Artfully Musing) in her 2015 Halloween Event.  The badge for the event is over in the right side column, but here's a direct link to the second posting for the event which includes this building.

This building is Cadaver & Diggers Undertakers.

Here is the front of the Undertakers.

This building started out as two chipboard house shapes that have been connected together.
The turrets on the two sides and the tower in the center stand proud of the facade - the turrets about 3/4" and the tower about 1/2".  On the left there is a doorway so the assistant can move the coffins in and out.  You can see she has her hands full today!

On the right is the main entrance to the building.

There's a little sign out front - "Our Guarantee - Die Today - Buried Tomorrow".

Here I've also added some ghosts which are a Tim Holtz die.

The stonework on the outside of the building is another digital image - the shadowing really makes it look like stone.
Here is a closeup of the assistant and the skeleton in the coffin.

Laura shows how to make the 3D characters from finger puppets and skeleton legs.

The coffin is from another digital collage sheet - I lined it with chipboard.

Now onto the inside...

Most of these items are the same, or similar to Laura's version.

On the bench, there is a skull acting as a "bookend" for a couple of headstones.

A few chemicals are next - these are also digital images with little square beads to give them support.

Another headstone stands to the left and then there's the shovel which I distressed a little with alcohol inks.

On the right there is a large arch.  I made the arch 3D - it is a little over an inch thick.

Perched on one of the arch's pillars is a skeleton.

A couple more coffins of different sizes from the same digital collage street are on the floor and more of the die cut ghosts fly above.

I again made this building so that all the pieces and parts come apart.

The lid of the bench comes off to store some of the accessories inside.
The wheels of the coffin carriage come off.

The smallest coffin fits inside the medium coffin.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my version of the Cadaver & Diggers Undertakers.  Hop on over to Laura's blog (ArtfullyMusing.blogspot.com) and get the details for this and all the other parts of the Haunted Village and join in the creative fun!  And while you're there, make sure to leave Laura kudos for this fantastic project!

I'll be back in a few days when I finish the next building... the Thrifty Witch,

Thanks for visiting, and until then - happy crafting, and of course, Happy Halloween!!
